There is a particular kind of travel that has no program. No itinerary. Just a kitchen garden at dawn, a glass poured by the person who grew the grapes, and the feeling that the day belongs entirely to you. Lancemore was built for that kind of travel. Peter and Jan Clark founded the group in 1986 with one conviction: that Australia's most beautiful landscapes deserved hotels built to honour them.
The boutique accommodation that grew from that idea now spans the King Valley wine country, thirty-four acres of Mornington Peninsula gardens, a grand Victorian estate at Werribee Park, the creative heart of Macedon, Melbourne's theatre district and the tropical coast of Palm Cove. What connects each property is not a standard or a style guide. It is a shared belief in the place itself. The food comes from the region. The wine comes from the people who made it on property. The pace comes from the land around you. We get the little things right because we know your time is the real luxury. And we choose our locations because some places are simply worth arriving at.
Lancemore began with a vision: to create intimate, design-led hotels where every guest feels at home, yet every stay feels exceptional. Founded by Peter and Jan Clark in the Macedon Ranges, our journey has grown into a collection of award-winning properties across Victoria and Queensland. Each hotel celebrates its local landscape, culture, and community, delivering authentic experiences that combine elegance, comfort, and a personal touch that lingers long after you have left.
Our story began with Lancemore Macedon Ranges in Victoria's Macedon Ranges, Australia’s first purpose-built regional conference facility.
Lancemore Lindenderry Red Hill on the Mornington Peninsula opened in 1995. It was one of the first boutique hotels in Australia to satisfy a growing appetite for food and wine experiences, as well as for conferences or events in spectacular regional locations. Lancemore Milawa followed suit in 2001, capitalising on the growing demand for luxury boutique accommodation in Victoria’s North East and the King valley gourmet region.
The iconic Lancemore Mansion Hotel Werribee Park in suburban Melbourne joined the Lancemore Group in 2010, followed by Alamanda at Palm Cove in 2014 followed by Lancemore Crossley St. in the pinacle of Melbourne's theatre district in 2020.
More recently, we have been at the forefront of hotel asset management trends in Australia by successfully negotiating ‘white-label’ agreements for, The Constance Hotel in Fortitude Valley and Cleveland Estate in the Macedon Ranges.
We are thrilled to share the next chapter will see both Lancemore McLaren Vale and Port Adelaide, coming late 2027.

The McLaren Vale Resort will be Adelaide’s only destination resort facility, intimately grounded in the gateway of renowned winery region of McLaren Vale in South Australia. The 5-star luxury resort will include 124 keys of various sizes, 100-seat epicurean restaurant, event centre for 250-guests, meeting and conference facilities, wellness centre and pool, gym and sauna facilities, all surround by extensive landscaping & vineyards.
Expected to be completed by late 2027.
Originally constructed in 1978, the former Marine and Harbours building in Port Adelaide will be converted into the 100-room featuring a number of 'floating' suites along the waterfront promenade, restaurant, rooftop bar and conference facilities.
